Tri-C East Phase

The View: Tri-C East Phase

Exterior Restoration at Cuyahoga Community College

Cuyahoga Community College, also known as Tri-C, has been in the midst of ongoing exterior renovations. The east phase of their renovations would require the skill of an experienced commercial roofing contractor.

The Job

New Construction Roofing Canopy

Tri-C needed a new construction roofing canopy, including the roof and gutter system, to be installed at the campus in Highland Heights.

The Challenge

Craftsmanship and Collaboration

The curvature of the new canopy would make it difficult to cut insulation pieces as well as fabricate and install the gutter system. Warren Roofing® also needed to work with another contractor, each developing a separate metal system that would be combined into one workable detail on the job.

The Status: Completed on December 26, 2023

The Process

Meticulous Construction

Tearing off the existing roof canopy involved the removal of the existing rock ballast, EPDM membrane, and existing insulation. Warren Roofing® then installed the new construction canopy, which included the installation of ¼” per foot tapered insulation, ½” cover board, and adhered 60-mil PVC membrane. This process also included the installation of metal edge components and gutters with downspouts.

Safety was paramount on the job site. Because all perimeter wood was not 100% in the final detail stage, workers had to be 100% tied off on the small work area by use of retractables.

The Results

Long-Lasting Weather Protection

The client was very satisfied with the end result, both from the weather protection it would provide for the building as well as the aesthetics of the roofing system.
