The Job

Total Roof Replacement

The project required more than just roof work. As the new roof was installed, there was also new lightning protection, new structural louver covers, soffit replacement, and the installation of roofing, pavers, and architectural sheet metal.

The Challenge

Scheduling and Access

To get the job done right, the coordination with Brigadier’s soffit replacement crew was crucial. And, from the start, access was the most difficult aspect: We would need to access high roof elevations and get the required materials to the roof deck.

The Process

When Craftsmanship Shines

Scaffold was erected on roofs that required replacement, so proper sequencing with soffit replacement was essential to keeping the project on schedule. We utilized an 80’ scaffold stair tower to access the highest roof elevation and lowered debris with a 80’ hydraulic hoist. Staging new material required the use of a 110 ton crane. We installed perimeter fall protection at the onset of the project and maintained it throughout the project.

T-clear pavers were installed to protect the roof membrane, so many roofing details have been hidden. With a nod to sustainability, we reused existing concrete pavers within the new system, providing an enhanced perimeter ballast. The building shape consists of radiused walls, creating challenges with cutting concrete pavers, fabricating metal coping, and flashing walls with membrane. These challenges created opportunities for our craftsmen to highlight their experience and skills to get the job done.

The Results

A Successful Project

The building owner is very pleased. Eliminating leaks and headaches for building managers and owners is our job, and we’re happy when we can help. We located some plumbing issues that had plagued the building with water infiltration the last few years and corrected these issues as the project was completed.
